The Honda Activa 5G is one of the Japanese brand’s best-selling models in the country. The last update which the scooter received was the launch of a limited edition variant back in May 2019. The Honda Activa 5G Limited Edition costs Rs 55,870 for the base variant whereas the DLX model costs Rs 57,735 (both ex-showroom Delhi). This makes it Rs 400 more expensive than the standard Activa. That’s a pretty nominal premium considering you get a couple of cosmetic updates such as black wheels, chrome muffler cover and a completely blacked out engine to name a few. Additionally, it also comes in two dual-tone colours - white with matte silver and metallic silver with black.

The design language of the Activa has remained more or less the same over the generations. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing as many customers prefer the subtle look. As far as the feature list is concerned, the Activa comes with a full-LED headlamp, a semi-digital instrument cluster (only in the DLX variant) and an optional charging port under the seat.

Activa 5G was Top Selling Scooter in September'19

The Honda Activa single handedly revived the automatic scooter segment in India. Such has been its success in India that it even went on to become the highest selling two-wheeler in India, displacing the Hero Splendor. One of the prime reasons for its success can be attributed to its versatile nature along with the refined, reliable and frugal motor. With competition stepping up the game, the Activa was facing the heat. To address this, Honda launched the Activa 5G with a host of new features. While the standard variant is priced at Rs 54,632, the DLX variant is priced at Rs 56,497 (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The Activa 5G gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, all-LED headlight with DRLs and a 4-in-1 lock with seat-opener switch. Honda is also working on the next generation Activa, which is likely to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
